frequently asked questions (FAQS)

WHAT iS YOUR APPROACH TO WELLNESS COACHING?

At Happier Healthier Self, I believe wellness should feel like coming home to yourself, not chasing someone else’s version of “healthy.”

Most women I work with already know a lot about wellness. They know sleep matters. They know movement helps. They know they feel better when they slow down, take a walk, breathe, or make time for themselves.

The problem usually isn’t knowing what to do. It’s finding a way to actually do it in a full, busy life, without turning wellness into another job.

That’s where my work begins.

Rather than giving you another rigid plan to follow, I help you slow down enough to notice what you need, get curious about what works for you, and make small, supportive changes that fit your real life.

My approach is rooted in:

* Awareness before action
* Curiosity instead of judgment
* Self-compassion over perfection
* Small steps over all-or-nothing thinking
* Your own experience over someone else’s rules

Because the goal isn’t to become better at following a wellness routine.

It’s to know yourself well enough to choose what supports you — and trust yourself enough to adjust when life changes.

ABOUT HEALTH AND WELLNESS COACHING & HOW IT WORKS

What is a health and wellness coach, and do I need one?

A health and wellness coach helps you turn what you know about feeling well into changes that actually work in your everyday life.

We might explore areas such as stress, sleep, movement, nutrition, or simply how you’re feeling in your life right now. You decide what you want to focus on, and we start there.

My role isn’t to diagnose, prescribe, or tell you how to live. It’s to help you notice patterns, ask better questions, experiment with what might help, and find an approach that feels genuinely yours.

You don’t need to have a big problem to benefit from coaching. Sometimes knowing that something doesn’t feel quite right — or that you’d simply like to feel more like yourself again — is enough.

How does 1:1 wellness coaching work?

Sessions last 1 hour and take place on Zoom.

I offer 1:1 coaching packages for 3 or 6 months.

We start with a free 30-minute discovery call to see if we’re a good fit.

Each session gives us space to explore what’s happening for you, what you need, and what small next step might make a difference.

Between sessions, you’ll have support as you experiment with what works for you in real life - without pressure to do it perfectly.

I’m looking for someone to just tell me exactly what to do. Will you?

I totally get the temptation. Life is busy, and sometimes we just want a clear plan and someone to say, “Do this and you’ll feel better.”

While I’ll absolutely guide you, offer structure, and share tools that work, I won’t hand you a rigid plan to follow. That’s because true wellness doesn’t come from doing what someone else tells you to do. It comes from learning to trust yourself.

What I will give you is space, support, guidance and a different perspective — without judgment when real life gets in the way.

If something you planned doesn’t happen, we won’t label it a failure. We’ll get curious about what got in the way and use that information to decide what comes next.

Because real change isn’t about following a plan perfectly. It’s about learning to notice, adjust and come back to what supports you.

Do I need to follow a meal plan or specific routine?

No. I don’t give you rigid routines, meal plans or rules to follow.

We’ll explore what works for your body, your schedule and your life right now. I’ll offer ideas, tools and guidance, but ultimately we’re looking for what works for you.

What if I already know what I should be doing?

Then you’re probably very much like the women I work with.

Knowing what helps and actually doing it when life is full are two very different things.

And often, the answer isn’t more discipline or another routine.

Coaching gives you space to understand what gets in the way, notice what actually works for you, and find ways to support yourself that fit the life you’re living rather than the life you think you should be living.

Who is wellness coaching for?

Wellness coaching may be a good fit for you if:
You’re functioning well on the outside but don’t always feel like yourself on the inside.
You want to feel less rushed, reactive or depleted without overhauling your life.
You already know a lot about wellness but struggle to make it fit consistently into real life.
You want support that helps you find your own answers rather than another set of rules to follow.
You’re open to experimenting with small changes and getting curious about what works for you.

It probably isn’t the right fit if:
You want someone to prescribe a strict diet, workout plan or daily routine.
You’re looking for a quick fix or guaranteed result.
You want medical diagnosis or treatment rather than coaching.

What if I’m unsure if wellness coaching is right for me?

That’s exactly what the complimentary 30-minute Quick Chat is for.

It’s simply a conversation between two women.

You can tell me what’s going on, ask me anything you’d like to know about working together, and we can both see whether it feels like a good fit.

There’s no pressure or obligation to continue.

Do you offer group coaching?

Yes! The Calm Reset Method is a 6-week live group coaching program for women 40+ who are high-achieving, carrying a lot, and ready for a different way of doing things. Together, we explore simple ways to feel more present, steady, and like yourself again - without needing life to slow down first.

What makes it different from a typical wellness program is that we practice together rather than just study together. You experience the tools during our live sessions, discover what works for your nervous system and your life, and build a personal toolkit that fits your actual circumstances — whether you're managing a full-time job, caring for children or aging parents, navigating a difficult health situation, or all of the above.

Cohort 2 opens for enrollment on September 1, 2026. Waitlist members get first access and save $200. You can join the waitlist here.

How much time does The Calm Reset Method require?

Surprisingly little. The live session is one hour per week, and most of the tools we explore take less than two minutes. This isn't about adding another item to your to-do list. It's about finding small ways to feel more like yourself again without needing life to slow down first.

What if I'm not a meditation person?

That's completely fine. The Calm Reset Method isn't a meditation course.

We explore a variety of practical tools, including breathing exercises, grounding techniques, simple awareness practices, and ways to pause before reacting.

The goal isn't to become a calmer or different person. It's to discover what helps you feel more grounded, steady, and like yourself again.

What makes The Calm Reset Method different from a self-paced course?

Change rarely happens from information alone. Most women already know what helps. The challenge is doing it consistently in real life. The Calm Reset Method combines live practice, reflection, coaching, and community so you can experience the tools, discover what works for you, and actually use them when you need them.

ABOUT ME & MY APPROACH

What is your background?

I’ve always been curious, a lifelong learner who loves exploring new ideas and diving deep to find what truly works.

Before I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, I spent years working in law, finance, and entrepreneurship, including building a travel startup that connected like-minded travelers and locals around the world. I loved what I did... until life gently nudged me in a new direction.

The pandemic hit pause on the fast-paced, travel-heavy life I was living. It gave me space to reflect, slow down, and reevaluate. And around the same time, midlife brought its own quiet shift: the workouts I used to love no longer energized me, and the habits that once worked stopped feeling aligned.

So, I did what I always do when I’m looking for answers: I researched, explored, and experimented. I started leaning into what felt good instead of what I thought I "should" be doing. That led me here.

Now, I help high-achieving women over 40 do the same: gently let go of what’s no longer working, tune into their inner wisdom, and create small, sustainable shifts that bring energy, balance, and joy back into their everyday life.

The Calm Reset Method, my 6-week group coaching program, grew directly out of this work, and out of watching what actually creates lasting change for women who are high-achieving, permanently busy, and quietly exhausted.

This isn’t about overhauling your world overnight. It's about building enough self-trust that you can slow down inside the life you already have; not by becoming someone different, but by becoming more aware of what you actually need.

You can read more about me and my mission at Happier Healthier Self on my about page.

Why is Happier Healthier Self in English when you’re German and based in Switzerland?

I’m German, live in Switzerland, and speak German, English and French. But I’ve lived and worked internationally for so long that I don’t really think of English as a foreign language — or simply as my work language.

English is part of my everyday life. Many of my friendships are international and we communicate in English. I read a lot, and probably 99% of what I read, whether fiction or nonfiction, is in English. I move between languages so naturally that I sometimes genuinely have to think about which language I had a particular conversation in.

I know that isn’t everyone’s experience. Some women I’ve spoken to use English all day at work and would rather switch back to their mother tongue when it comes to something as personal as their wellbeing. I completely understand that.

For me, though, that separation has never really existed. Even in my first career in law and finance, I was always drawn to working internationally.

When I created Happier Healthier Self, choosing English therefore felt natural — but it was also intentional. I want this work and its message to reach women around the world.
I currently coach in both English and German, so you can choose the language that feels most natural to you.

What is your personal approach to nutrition?

I don’t believe in restrictive diets or one-size-fits-all meal plans.

Instead of focusing on eliminating certain food groups or labeling food as good or bad, I encourage adding more nourishing foods to your plates that make you feel good.

And most importantly, I believe that food should be enjoyable.

How is wellness coaching different from therapy?

I am a Health & Wellness Coach, not a doctor, dietitian, or therapist.

My coaching is not a substitute for medical advice or therapy. I don't diagnose, treat or cure any underlying illnesses.

If you have health concerns or are currently taking any medication or are undergoing any kind of therapy, please consult your healthcare professional before making any significant changes.

INVESTMENT & RESULTS

Can you promise results?

No, and nobody can.

What I can tell you is that small, imperfect steps often add up to more than we expect.

The women who get the most out of this work stay curious, are willing to experiment, and keep coming back to what supports them — even when life gets in the way.

My role is to give you the space, tools, guidance and support to discover what works for you. What you do with that is always yours.

Small steps are always enough, and consistency doesn't have to be perfect. What creates change isn't flawless execution, it's the willingness to stay curious and keep going.

Shouldn’t I be able to figure this out myself?

You probably can figure out a lot on your own. You’ve likely been doing that successfully for most of your life.

But being capable doesn’t mean you have to work everything out alone.

Sometimes we’re simply too close to our own lives to see the patterns clearly.

Having someone ask the right questions, offer another perspective and give you space to think can help you notice what you’ve been missing.

My job isn’t to have all the answers for you. It’s to help you hear your own answers more clearly — and build enough trust in yourself to act on them.

Is wellness coaching worth the investment?

Investing in yourself is one of the best decisions you can make.

Prioritizing your health improves everything: your energy, emotional well-being, confidence, self-esteem, self-trust, mindset, relationships, and overall well-being.

Coaching isn’t just about temporary changes; it’s about learning tools that support you for life.

If you’re ready to take that step, let’s talk! Book your free 30 minute Zoom call here.

Who is wellness coaching for?

✅ It’s for you if:
You’re ready to make small, meaningful changes to feel better.

You want a sustainable, enjoyable approach to wellness, without guilt or extremes.

You value support, accountability, and a coach who listens rather than dictates.

❌ It’s NOT for you if:
You want someone to tell you exactly what to do.

You expect quick fixes without making any changes.

You’re looking for a strict diet or an intense workout plan.

What if I’m unsure if wellness coaching is right for me?

I understand that choosing a coach is a significant decision. That’s why I offer a complimentary 30-minute discovery call where we get to meet each other face to face. There is no-obligation of any kind tied to it. It's simply a chat between two women to discuss your goals, how I can help and most importantly, see if we’re a good fit.

What I can tell you is that small, imperfect steps add up more than most people expect.

Why should I invest in wellness coaching instead of doing it alone?

Knowing what to do is one thing, doing it consistently is another. That's where health and wellness coaching comes in.

If you’ve struggled with motivation or the all-or-nothing mindset, coaching helps you stay accountable, shift from self-criticism to self-compassion, and celebrate progress (even when it’s imperfect).
